summer studies

wednesdays @6:30-8pm

july 13-August 17

  • parenting and prayer

Parenting is hard. Being disciplined in prayer is hard. Pursuing your spouse is hard. So why not combine all three into one summer study? Join us as we seek to grow our prayer lives, particularly for our kids, alongside our spouse. While the group is intended as an opportunity for spouses to attend and grow together, single parents/individuals are also encouraged to attend! Also noteworthy, no homework and no cost! Leaders: Pastor Spencer and Molly Thomas

  • proper confidence

Doubt plagues confidence in our faith. We are told that to know something we must first doubt it until it is proven true. We often treat God as an object to be studied beginning with doubt. What happens when that object walks into the room and speaks? The study must change. We must stop making claims and instead begin to listen. Join us in this challenging study that will reshape your faith to humbly confess and rejoice that Jesus is God of the Story. Leader: David Gallagher. Book Cost: $11 (Proper Confidence by Lesslie Newbigin)

When you’re feeling anxious over a problem or decision, isn’t it great to have someone you can trust and rely on step in and say, “I got this.” Well, for all of life and salvation, God has told us, “I got this!” The Essential Doctrines of the Reformed Faith (aka TULIP) is a five-week study that will explore the bible’s teachings on how God exercises his sovereignty in our salvation and how we can rely on His work. Each week we’ll define one of the five Doctrines of Grace, address common objections to these doctrines, and review the scriptural support for each. This study will show that God merits ALL the glory for our salvation, and how we can confidently rest in assurance of our salvation. God’s got this! Leaders: John Rogers and Steven Burton. No need to buy a book, just bring your Bible.

Making conscientious choices about technology is more than just using internet filters and determining screen time limits. It's about developing wisdom, character, and courage in the way we use digital media rather than accepting technology's promises of ease, instant gratification, and the world's knowledge at our fingertips.  Drawing on in-depth original research from the Barna Group, Andy Crouch shows readers that the choices we make about technology have consequences we may never have considered. Leader: David Steinbarger. Book Cost: $9 (The Tech-Wise Family by Andy Crouch)
