Deacon

Since the word deacon means "servant" or "waiter", I serve others needs, primarily in tangible ways like caring for them, feeding them, providing transportation, or paying housing related expenses.  In doing so I also speak of Jesus' love and the gospel, so most importantly they can know salvation.  I'm involved in various facility needs, decisions on scholarships for counseling, and visitation.

Within the church we have an active Mercy Team and many volunteers in Care Ministries that support all this.

About michael

I grew up in Chicago and met my wife, Nicole, at a Christian camp in White Lake, WI when I was 16. A few years and few kids after we were married she convinced this Bears fan to move to Packer territory. Nicole and I currently have three children Nathan(2014), Mikayla(2017), and Marshall(2019). In our spare time, we love to take road trips, go camping, and spend time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

Fun Facts:

What do you do in your free time?

  • When not spending time with my family I enjoy working on older German cars and doing any activity that gets me in the great outdoors.

What is your favorite Bible Verse?

  • “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

If you could meet anyone in history who would it be?

  • I would probably choose CS Lewis. Besides loving him as an author, he fought in WWI and wrote what would become “Mere Christianity” through WW2 wartime broadcasts reaching millions at the time. In addition, he was extremely charitable in donating the proceeds from his writing and was friends with JRR Tolkien. Seems like a guy I would love to have a conversation with.
